Cindy Walden – Bio
Retired Animal Services Officer, City of Folsom, CA
Humane Educator and Consultant
Cindy began her Animal Welfare career over 20 years ago, in Sacramento California where she worked as kennel staff, kennel lead, field officer, and volunteer coordinator for Sacramento County. She also did humane education presentations at schools and other groups, developed a program with Easter Seals and started a K-6 after-school group called “The 4 and 2 Club”. In 2009 Cindy started the Animal Services department for the City of Folsom, CA. She was involved in every aspect of creating the department for the city, from assisting with writing the city ordinances, establishing the Animal Services Department, including coordinating the establishment of the city’s first animal shelter. Cindy was the sole officer for a population of over 70,000.
Cindy retired in 2016 she remains active with NACA, APHE and volunteers for several national disaster response groups.
Cindy serves on the Board of Directors for FieldHaven Feline Center, Lincoln, CA as well as the NACA Board of Directors.
Cindy deploys with the ASPCA as a FIR (Field Investigation Response) Responder Specialist.
