Joseph W. Maniaci Scholarship

Joseph W. Maniaci, 54, a lifelong resident of Richmond, Michigan, died unexpectedly October 2, 2001, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Mr. Maniaci was born January 17, 1947 in Mount Clemons, Michigan to Cologiro and Eva (Schue) Maniaci. He married Lydia Rapp in Richmond on July 29, 1967. Joe was an Animal Control Officer for Macomb County, member of the Richmond Fire Department, former mayor of the City of Richmond, member of the Richmond City Council, President of the Michigan Animal Control Officers Association and Vice President of the National Animal Control Association. He is survived by his wife, Lydia, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patti Maniaci of Chesterfield, daughter, Kristen Maniaci of Romulus, mother Eva Maniaci of Richmond, brothers Alfonse and Theresa Collins of Richmond, Anthony of Marysville, sister Sara and Ronald

Joseph was elected to the NACA Board of Directors in May of 1995. He served as Vice President from June of 2000 until his death in office on October 2, 2001.

On October 12, 2002, the NACA Board of Directors formally introduced the Joseph Maniaci Scholarship to be made available for NACA Level 1 and 2 Academy attendees. Scholarship requirements and application are available in two separate files. You MUST download, print and review both files before submitting your application.
