Program Evaluations

WANT A CLOSER LOOK???

The National Animal Control Association has the resources to evaluate your animal control program at a very reasonable cost.

WHY EVALUATE?

Animal Control agencies are no different than other enforcement organizations as far as their susceptibility to crisis management. They often become so busy with their every day problems that they do not have the time to plan ahead. Or, if they have a plan, they don't have the time to see if they are staying on track.

A thorough evaluation can point out what is working and what needs to be improved. New ideas can be presented for the agencies consideration. A proper evaluation results in a win-win situation for the agency, government, and taxpayer.

WHO WILL EVALUATE?

NACA will assign a staff member(s) and/or a member(s) of its Board of Directors to be the evaluation team. These are people who have many years of experience managing animal control agencies. They have well earned reputations for managing effective programs. They understand government responsibilities and limitations.

Team members have the added benefit of having been in many shelters and of having talked to large numbers of animal control personnel, from shelter attendants to managers. The team does not just bring their knowledge to the evaluation, they bring knowledge gathered from around the world.

All NACA evaluations are confidential with a written report given only to the contracting agency.

Media contact, or the release of the report to additional individuals or agencies, is at the discretion of the contracting agency.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

All program evaluations are assessed a minimum charge based on the areas to be reviewed, plus expenses. Once you appraise the depth of the study, NACA will submit a detailed, written proposal outlining all costs and commitments required by both the contracting agency and NACA. As an Example: For a smaller agency, a detailed assessment would cost you $6000 plus expenses (for one Study Team Member, on-site for five days). Larger agencies may require additional Study Team Members, which would increase your base costs.
