NACA Memorial Wall and Gardens

The NACA Memorial Wall and Gardens is a permanent display/tribute to remember and honor NACA members employed as animal control officers that have died in the line of duty. The memorial wall will be located in the NACA Memorial Gardens to be constructed on the grounds of the NACA Corporate Headquarters. The wall will display the names of these fallen animal control officers. The gardens will serve as a backdrop for the wall providing a serene and private area to reflect on the loss of these fallen members and to honor their memory.
Funding
The NACA Memorial Wall and Gardens will be funded initially by NACA and then reimbursed from donor dollars both individual and corporate through the NACA Memorial/Compassion Fund. Once initial funding has been reimbursed additional monies to be used for maintenance of the site.
Guidelines for Inclusion on the National Memorial Wall
Animal Control Officers that have died in the line of duty. The deceased must have been a sworn or non-sworn paid, full or part time animal control officer employed by an animal control agency. The deceased must have been on duty at the time of death. The inclusion must be approved by the organization that employed the deceased officer.
NACA Compassion Fund
The NACA Animal Control Compassion Fund was established to help families of animal control officers that have died in the line of duty by making a donation to the family of the deceased. This fund is comprised of corporate and individual donor dollars.
A Review Committee will be established to make NACA Compassion Fund award decisions using the guidelines established for the NACA Memorial Wall and Gardens except for the additional requirement that the deceased must have been a current NACA member at the time of death.
