NACA Policy Regarding Mailing Lists

Because of continued fraud and abuse, the National Animal Control Association has developed a policy regarding the use/availability of NACA mailing lists.

NACA Membership List: A list of all current NACA members. Will not be released to anyone, for any reason. The NACA Membership List is maintained by the NACA Corporate Office, which is responsible for the integrity and security of member information. Policy approved by the NACA Board of Directors of May 15, 1996, in Kansas City, Missouri.

NACA E-Mail Distribution List: A list of all current NACA members with an e-mail address. Will not be released to anyone, for any reason. The NACA E-Mail Distribution List is maintained by the NACA Corporate Office, which is responsible for the integrity and security of member information.

NACA Agency List: A list of names and addresses of animal control/care and humane agencies throughout the United States. The NACA Agency List is the most comprehensive and well-maintained list of Animal Control and Humane agencies in the world. This list must be purchased (money must be received in advance - no exceptions!). NACA Agency Members ($125.00 annual dues) and NACA Vendor/Advertiser Members ($125.00 annual membership) may purchase the agency list at ten cents for each name/listing; Non-NACA members or non-NACA Agency or Vendor/Advertiser Members or may purchase the agency list at fifteen cents for each name/listing. The Agency List is offered electronically, with data exported in ASCII or DBase format. Telephone numbers and fax numbers available upon request (not every entry offers that information, however). NACA no longer offers the agency list on mailing labels.

As of March 1, 2001, NACA's Agency List now consists of over 9,000 agencies. Prices and number of agencies to change without notice, so contact the NACA Corporate Office prior to purchase. The NACA Staff spends a great deal of time and effort in keeping the Agency List updated, so I'm sure you can understand why the list isn't free!

A Word About Surveys: NACA receives hundreds of requests each year to assist with outside surveys. While NACA understands the importance of data gathering, we cannot, because of past fraud and abuse, offer our Agency List for free (there are NO exceptions). In addition, because of mailing restrictions, NACA cannot prepare, nor mail, your survey from our office using our non-profit status. In short, unless it's a NACA Survey, we can't assist you. Sorry.
